The film is a visual underscore of Frantz Fanon&#8217;s 1961 anti-colonial manifesto &#8220;The Damned of the Earth.&#8221; Historical footage is combined with excerpts of Fanon&#8217;s text spoken by Lauryn Hill and embedded by a foreword by Gayatri C. Spivak.<\/p>\n<p>The film has been awarded the film prize &#8220;<a title=\"BMZ: Cinema fairbinds\" href=\"http:\/\/www.bmz.de\/de\/mitmachen\/Wettbewerbe\/cinema_fairbindet\/index.html\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">cinema fairbinds<\/a>&#8220;The film has been awarded the prize.
