While criticism has so far been voiced more digitally, e.g. in a <a title=\"No Humboldt 21: Resolution\" href=\"http:\/\/www.no-humboldt21.de\/resolution\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">resolution<\/a> that has already been signed by over 70 organizations and over 500 individuals, a series of exciting events around criticism of the Humboldt Forum will take place this fall. On 22.10. a central event will take place in the Werkstatt der Kulturen on the topic of  <a title=\"Event Prussian Cultural Heritage?\" href=\"http:\/\/www.no-humboldt21.de\/do-22-10-13-diskussion\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">&#8220;Prussian Cultural Heritage? Postcolonial and Development Perspectives on the Humboldt Forum &#8211; Dealing with Cultural Assets and Human Remains from the Colonial Era&#8221;.<\/a>  held. On 24.10. launches a series of dialogue forums with the event <a title=\"Event No amnesty on Genocide!\" href=\"http:\/\/www.africavenir.org\/news-archive\/newsdetails\/datum\/2013\/09\/09\/no-amnesty-on-genocide-namibias-kampf-um-anerkennung-und-wiedergutmachung-fuer-den-voelkermord-190.html\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">&#8220;No amnesty on Genocide!&#8221;<\/a><small><\/small> at the House of Democracy.<\/p>\n<p>On the political level, there was in the meantime a <a title=\"Small question of the Green Party Berlin: Humboldt Forum\" href=\"http:\/\/neu.isdonline.de\/kleine-anfrage-der-grunenberlin-zur-postkoloniale-auseinandersetzung-mit-dem-humboldt-forum\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">small inquiry of the Green Party Berlin to the Berlin Senate on the postcolonial discussion of the Humboldt Forum<\/a>. Dr. Kwame Opuko questions the Berlin Senate&#8217;s response in a detailed article, <a title=\"Kwame Opuko: Did Germans never hear...?\" href=\"http:\/\/www.no-humboldt21.de\/information\/nigeria\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">&#8220;Did Germans Never Directly or Indirectly Hear Nigeria&#8217;s Demand for Return of Looted Artifacts?&#8221;<\/a> and criticizes both the handling of colonial looted <a title=\"Kwame Opuko: Did Germans never hear...?\" href=\"http:\/\/www.no-humboldt21.de\/information\/nigeria\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">artifacts<\/a> and the hypocritical political rhetoric.<\/p>\n<p>Finally, we draw your attention to an open exchange of letters between Frank Holl and the No Humboldt 21! alliance. In <a Humboldt href=\"http:\/\/www.avhumboldt.de\/?p=9008\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">his letter<\/a>, the Humboldt biographer accused the campaign of portraying Alexander von Humboldt as a representative of European colonialism while suppressing his anti-colonial positions. In a <a title=\"No Humboldt 21!: Reply letter to Frank Holl\" href=\"http:\/\/www.no-humboldt21.de\/offener\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">letter of response<\/a>, the alliance partners of No Humboldt 21! show in detail why its quotations, activities and basic attitude must very well be problematized from a postcolonial perspective.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>glokal is part of the alliance against the Humboldt Forum in the Berlin Palace.
