Cloves for Napuli!
Almost without food, Refugee activist Napuli Langa sat on a plane tree at Berlin’s Oranienplatz for five days, refusing to leave the destroyed refugee camp. Before descending weakened but safe last night, she won a great victory for the refugees at Oranienplatz. In writing, the Senate has assured that the refugees’ info tent will be rebuilt. So it is clear: The protest continues – O-Platz is living!
The refugees who have been on hunger strike at Oranienplatz since Thursday, April 10, have declared that they will continue their protest and hunger strike: against camps, compulsory residence and deportations, for a right to stay for all refugees from Oranienplatz.
As a sign of solidarity with Napuli and our hunger-striking friends from Oranienplatz, we will be there every day at 6 p.m. starting today to participate in their vigil.
We ask you to spread this call and follow their explicit invitation: Bring flowers for Napuli and her brothers, drinks for the hunger strikers and drama, music and poetry for all! Show the refugees that they are welcome here! Show the world that they belong to us!
with very little to eat or drink – she resolutely refused to leave the decimated refugee camp. Last night, before she climbed down from the tree, weakened but still healthy, she achieved a great victory for the refugees on Oranienplatz. The senate has agreed that the refugee information tent can be rebuilt. This is a clear signal: The protest camp is here to stay – O-Platz lives! The struggle continues.
