On 11/11/2017 there will be a bus demo to several African embassies and the GIZ (Deutsche Gesellschaft für Internationale Zusammenarbeit). The background to this is the increasingly brutal Valetta Process, with which the EU not only wants to close the flight and migration routes from African countries, but also to massively force deportations from Europe. We must take to the streets against this policy – immediately, loudly and with many! Continue reading

Action Week Commemoration & Resistance (Berlin)
The court case on the NSU murder series will be concluded in 2017. Instead of taking seriously the urgent concerns of the relatives and the Nebenklage to come to terms with the political significance of the NSU for the entire German judiciary, the Office for the Protection of the Constitution and other investigative agencies, the trial only dealt with the involvement of a small neo-Nazi circle in the crime. New: The fairy tale of eye level
We are pleased to announce our new brochure: The fairy tale of eye level. Power and Solidarity in North-South Partnerships
Eye level and partnership are phrases that are often used in North-South, solidarity or ‘development cooperation’. They are meant to signal progressiveness and demonstrate equality. But do the terms extend beyond rhetoric? What are the patterns of thinking and structures in North-South partnerships? What are the perspectives of the so-called southern partners on cooperation?
In the publication “Das Märchen von der Augenhöhe” (“The Fairy Tale of Eye Level”), glokal e.V. has brought together ten activists, committed people and NGO workers from the Global South and North to shed light on different aspects of NGO structures, school partnerships, voluntary services and solidarity work. A theoretical introduction makes the historical-political framework tangible, and a reflection and practice guide supports the analysis and transformation of the reader’s own engagement.

Peer Exchange of African Communities for Empowerment – Call for Support
P.E.A.C.E is a Network and platform for peer exchange of scientific, academic and societal issues concerning Africans aimed at empowering Africans, giving back to the Community (GiBaCo) and fighting “Brain Drain” in our African Communities.
PEACE, a Pan-African Network is to launch its first networking Centre in Post-colonial Cameroon. The aim for this Centre is to create awareness, empowerment, facilitate and enhance networking within our Communities.
The PEACE Centre, located at our premises in New Town Limbe is soon to go functional with a number of established facilities to go along with it. Being an independent network, we are embarking on sustainable projects for self-support, promote growth and maintain a strong foothold in Africa
Our network promotes finding African solutions to problems arising in the continent and Africans in the Diaspora, knowledge transfer, information dissemination through workshops, seminars, conferences, publishing of research materials, inter-networking of media and communication streams on African and Africa pertinent issues. The PEACE Centre is open to the public.
A good number of these projects will include:
-An academic center, which will serve and act as a scientific and research multipurpose center.
-An internet facility network of computers to aid the various activities of the academic center
-Lodging which will be strictly opened only to guests who come to visit and assist the organization.
-A snack bar, which will serve as a refreshing corner for our guests.
-An Artelier and Arts-Gallery to promote and empower young and rising African artists.
In spite of these aforementioned projects, we stick to our main focus and priority, which is to actively promote the African heritage, analyzing and finding alternative proposals for solutions to issues in and about Africa in order to create and build the continent of our dreams.
That is why as a Network we are calling on the public as a whole and Africans in general to donate to PEACE.
Furthermore, you might already know that we don’t ask for funding from institutions that are not African. It is a principle, which is challenging because so far, only little financial assistance has triggered into our coffers. But we have been able to abide to it.
Therefore we need funds to be able to survive in the long run, build our infrastructure and shape our destiny. As such we are pleading for your support to grow and stay strong. Every donation channeled to us will be for the development of PEACE.

The largest prisoner strike in U.S. history
Since September 9, prisoners in the U.S. have been on strike in more than 30 correctional facilities to protest their exploitation as workers and the ridiculously low wages they receive in prison, under conditions characteristic of insitutionalized slavery. They demand real wages, adequate health care, education programs, and the shortening of life sentences. On September 24, even the guards in various prisons did not come to work (although without officially expressing their solidarity).
Fillmclip: “Stop being a slave: the largest prisoner strike in U.S. history”
USA 2016, 2 min, english with dt. UT (http://de.labournet.tv/aufhoeren-ein-sklave-zu-sein-der-groesste-gefangegenstreik-der-geschichte-der-usa)
This nationwide strike was organized in part by the Incarcerated Workers Organizing Committee (IWOC), a project of the IWW union. Since IWOC began the project in 2014, 900 prisoners have become union members. But the strike has involved many more prisoners: according to estimates, over 50,000 have participated. Smuggled-in cell phones and social media were critical to organizing.
There is almost no coverage of this strike in mainstream media and prisoners are punished for their participation in the protests.
IWOC is asking for donations to support the prisoners’ strike. They also participate in the publication of the Incarcerated Worker, a small magazine written and edited by prisoners (more information on the website [1]).

Unraveling the NSU Complex – Donations Wanted
The tribunal “NSU-Komplex auflösen” will take place from 17 – 21.05.2017 in Cologne. It works for a democratic and cosmopolitan society that casts the right to rights in its foundation. It works against state-supported social ignorance that enables racist action. Because the series of murders and attacks committed by the so-called National Socialist Underground (NSU) between 1999 and 2011 has still not been solved. Neither the court proceedings in Munich nor the numerous parliamentary investigative committees have fully revealed the NSU network and the involvement of the Office for the Protection of the Constitution and other state actors in it. The focus of the tribunal is therefore on the joint accusation of both racist structures and individual perpetrators. Donations are needed for the preparatory work.
Solidarity with Standing Rock Sioux Nation
In April 2016, the Standing Rock Sioux Nation called for support of all indigenous peoples against the Dakota Access Pipeline (DAPL). DAPL threatens the water system of millions along the Missouri, but especially Standing Rock. Since September 2016, hundreds of Nations sent letters of support and thousands joined the gathering at Sacred Stone Camp.
Despite illegal tactics, misinformation by media, attacks by corporate mercenaries and arrests by police, the assembly decided to remain calm and not allow the desecration. They are building a completely self-sustaining city with renewable, “earth friendly” energy for all Nations.
Standing Rock Sioux Nation is asking for support and donations for supplies and legal defense. Care should be taken to make donations only to official Native American organizations or other entities listed on their websites (see below).
To learn more about opposition to pipelines in North America, Native news websites can be consulted.
